Vroozi

Design and Programming (some graphics not mine)

I have been working with Vroozi since 2012, building and tweaking their site to compete in a very competitive market. Their new home page invites visitors into the site and shows off their prestigious partnership with Google. Their pricing pages are easy to navigate and clearly show the value of their product. And their new Resources section is a great way for them to share their story. This simple site with bold colours and the occasional graphic touch is a real winner.

The complexity of this site's great design made it a challenge to fit into the Wordpress system. I was still able to give the client complete control over the site's content without compromising the layout. The slideshow with animated background on the home page was a special challenge that required some elaborate Javascript coding.

Design and Programming

This ambitious site has been a wonderful project to be involved with. Public speakers and educators Norm and Emma had a vision of sharing knowledge in their field through an online conference centre. By sharing interviews with experts in their field as a series of instructional/inspirational videos, visitors can attend a conference of first-class speakers without having to leave their home or office. Drupal made it all possible through great video managing tools and its ecommerce system to power subscriptions.

Working from a great design, this site presented a unique challenge with every page. One page required a custom, interactive neighbourhood map, which I created and made editable through Wordpress. Another page allowed visitors to browser floorplans based on apartment layouts. New floorplans can be easily added through the Wordpress editor. The client demanded strict adherence to their design specs and I delivered a site that I'm really proud of.

Matraea Mercantile is a store for mothers and children with great ambitions for their website. It's both an online home for their wares as well as an easily browsable calendar of courses--complete with one-click online signups. It's also growing into a repository of informative articles and blog posts from which the owners share their wisdom from years working as midwives. All of this is made possible--and easy to manage--by the Drupal content management system the site is built on.

It was great working on a website for a paint store as it allowed me to work with a lot of really great, colourful photographs. For the site, I used the Benjamin Moore red and blue colours sparingly, as I didn't want too many colours to overshadow the colour of the paints in the other pictures. To launch the interactive version of its Community Green Map, the Land Trust decided to completely revamp their old, out-of-date site (see a picture of their old site). Drupal also makes it simple for the Land Trust's volunteers and staff to update the site, adding news, more pictures and other projects whenever they wish.
